Job Description

Deputy Clerk position requires performance of a variety of duties for the Court and the Clerk of
Court which require a thorough knowledge and understanding of court policies and procedures as
well as a basic understanding of the Florida Rules of Appellate Procedure. The essential functions of
the position are to open process and manage all appeals filed in the Court and to provide
exemplary customer service both to the judiciary and other members of the Court as well as to the
public. The Deputy Clerks are also responsible for related clerical tasks. The Deputy Clerk will work
as part of a team of clerks and although each deputy clerk has discrete responsibilities these
duties will change from time to time. Thus the examples of work listed herein are not descriptive of
any one deputy clerk position but are meant to be illustrative of the duties of a deputy clerk. File
track all cases in and out of clerks office; docket all filings and orders; Review files before
assignment to ensure that all briefs records and pleadings are in proper order; Reshelf case files
and exhibits; Scan documents receive pleadings filed electronically; Prepare clerks orders using
correct rule citation and in accordance with court directive; Prepare oral argument calendar create
opinion list and opinion pack.
