The Production Supervisor reports to the Plant Superintendent or Production Manager and provides an interface with the Maintenance Shipping/Receiving and Lab Departments. Additional reporting to Plant Manager.
Manages a team of at least two (2) hourly Process Operators per shift.
Manages the day-to-day operations for the shift and the production line in the making of Polyglass products:
Trains motivates and supervises production operators to ensure finished goods met product specifications and that proper records are maintained.
Responsible for managing attendance creating schedules reviewing and approval of employee timecards.
Interacts with Human Resources and Plant Management to interview select train coach and terminate hourly production personnel at the plant.
Available to handle phone calls after hours as the needs of the business require.
Leads special project teams as assigned by Plant Management.
Conducts initial RCCA investigations for safety incidents.
Addresses absenteeism including vacation planning by scheduling manpower as needed to fulfil production demands.
Promotes and enforces the health safety and environmental regulations by ensuring that standards policies and procedures are adhered to in compliance with corporate federal state and local requirements.
Assures quality products are manufactured at the facility in accordance with company policies procedures and applicable governmental regulations.
Schedules and assigns work plans procedures for the manufacturing of products and timely shipment of customer and intercompany sales orders.
Prepares and submits requested data for the preparation of production reports to plant staff including products and quantities produced hours worked and significant happenings at the manufacturing site.
Interfaces with communicates to and directs other plant and corporate personnel to insure efficient operations.
Ensures operations functions effectively and that the daily data is collected accurately on all machines.
Provides information at the daily production meetings regarding the current line status including issues causes and preventative techniques used to prevent further issues.
Performs other duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel Outlook.
High School Diploma or GED required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
PowerPoint experience a plus.
Associates or Bachelors degree in related field preferred.
Previous supervisory experience in a production environment preferred.
