Job Description
Position Overview & Responsibilities
The Ahamed Lab in the Cardiovascular Biology Research Program is seeking a motivated and talented Postdoctoral Scientist to study the role of TGF-beta in organ fibrosis and cardiovascular disease. This position offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of molecular signaling vascular biology and translational medicine. Our research is grounded in a strong foundation of published work (Antioxid Redox Signal 2021 PMID:; AIDS 2020 PMID:; Blood Adv 2019 PMID:; Blood 2012 PMID:). Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Designing and conducting in vitro and in vivo experiments related to TGF-beta signaling pathways.
- Analyzing data using relevant molecular cellular and biochemical techniques.
- Collaborating with lab members and external partners to advance project goals.
- Preparing manuscripts figures and presentations for publication and scientific meetings.
- Contributing to grant applications and progress reports.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date laboratory records.
- Participating in journal clubs lab meetings and other professional development activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a biological science chemistry physics or other relevant area M.D. or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in in vivo mouse models with microsurgical procedures and ultrasound imaging techniques preferred.
