Duties and Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL: - Receive work assignment obtain needed tools
- Dismantle machine or equipment marking parts as required determining the source of trouble and remedy by adjusting repairing replacing parts overhauling etc. as required; clean parts when necessary
- Drill ream tap file and scape parts as needed to obtain proper fit and operation; presses parts together using press when necessary; may improvise parts
- Lay out work for welding position of holes to be drilled and perform other layout work of similar nature
- Reassemble parts fitting checking adjustment leveling and aligning as needed for proper mechanical function
- Obtains required parts from stores
- Submit parts to supervisor for reworking as required
- Oils lubricate and clean machines or equipment as required
- Repair all types of machine tools fabricating machines mechanical and hydraulic presses and other mechanical equipment
- Remove and empty chip and garbage dumpsters
- Clean coolant tanks
- Assist other maintenance personnel
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and perform all assignments in a safe manner and in accordance with established quality procedures
Education and Experience: REQUIRED: - High School diploma or certificate of equivalency
Knowledge Skills Abilities Characteristics etc. REQUIRED: - Excellent mechanical electrical and millwright aptitude
- Excellent math skills and understanding of basic concepts
- Willingness to perform a variety of tasks daily
- Self-motivated to accomplish daily goals without direct supervision

Tools Technology and Equipment Used: Remote overhead crane forklift hand tools portable power tools ordinary and precision measuring tools marking tools drill press arbor press various chains and lifting equipment Physical Demands and Work Environment: This position is active and requires standing walking bending kneeling stooping crouching crawling and climbing ladders daily. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls to reach with hands and arms to climb or balance and talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift move or carry up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times.
