Summary:


The accounts payable/receivable (AR/AP) specialist role is responsible for both the payments a company owes to others and the money owed to it by customers. They ensure accurate and timely processing of all AP and AR transactions contributing to the financial health and efficiency of the organization.


This role will suit a detail-oriented person that can effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. Ad hoc requests are not uncommon and this person also needs to be able to prioritize duties independently.


This role is vital to the effective support of the business and function of the finance & accounting department.


Youll spend your days on the following:


Accounts Payable (AP) Responsibilities:

  • Processing vendor invoices: Ensuring invoices are accurate coded correctly and properly approved before payment.
  • Payment processing: Preparing and disbursing payments to vendors on time and in accordance with established policies.
  • Maintaining vendor records: Keeping vendor information including contact details and payment terms up to date.
  • Reconciling accounts: Verifying that payments match invoices and that accounts are properly reconciled.
  • Yearly 1099 processing


Accounts Receivable (AR) Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and applying payments: Applying payments to the correct customer accounts and recording them accurately.
  • Managing collections: Following up on outstanding invoices and working with the Account Managers to resolve customers payment issues.
  • Providing customer service; Responding to customer inquiries regarding payments and invoices.

  • Willingness and ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently and self-determine priority of requests and tasks that need completion
  • Strong organization skills
  • An eye for detail an enquiring mind and a willingness to try new things to help support our growth journey


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent work experience in accounting.
  • Strong attention to detail: Accuracy data entry and financial processing is essential.
  • Familiarity with accounting software proficiency with D365 would be a plus
  • Intermediate excel skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
