Start Date would be mid August and follows the school year calendar

*Options are available for working in the summer

35 hours a week and hours would range between 8/8:30-3/3:30

*Options for up to 40 hours a week

A typical day for a RIDE Pre-K Teachers Assistant will include:

  • Working as a team with the Lead Teacher to provide a safe healthy structured welcoming space to grow and learn.
  • Singing dancing playing teaching!
  • Inspiring children to be lifelong learners.
  • Partnering with families to nurture and care for their children.
  • Showcasing your tech savvy skills by using an electronic daily tracking app.
  • Assisting with the accreditation process as well as other quality initiatives.

Learn more about our benefits at learning centers are open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. 5:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. State Pre-K classroom hours may vary.

We have locations across Rhode Island.

Requirements

We are willing to train the right person! Our ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience working with children in a group setting.

We are looking for someone who has the following skills:

  • A personal demeanor that is warm and friendly.
  • Verbal and written communication skills including grammar and reading skills.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Organized and able to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Team-oriented and willing to work with others.

Education Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must meet state Pre-K education requirements: 12 college credits in Early Childhood Education

Certifications/Experience

  • At least 1 year working in an early learning/child care center.
  • Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards (RIELDS) certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of Teaching Strategies and/or Conscious Discipline preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to engage in physical exercise with children (walking running crawling bending twisting).
  • Visual and hearing acuity.
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Other Qualifications

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Able to read write speak and understand English bilingual encouraged to apply.
  • Must pass national criminal background/fingerprints check.
  • Must pass Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF) Clearance Request (CPS).
