Job Description

The Senior Director of Brand Experience and Creative Strategy is responsible for leading the development and execution of Adlers visual and experiential brand identity across all channels and touchpoints. As part of a growing team the Senior Director will manage two direct reports with the potential for team expansion as needs evolve. Located on either our Chicago or Vancouver campus.

This role will oversee strategic brand initiatives that shape how the University is perceived by prospective students partners and the broader community collaborating closely with teams across Adler to ensure brand consistency and cohesion. Blending strategic oversight with hands-on execution this position will guide creative direction design brand materials support integrated campaigns and lead efforts to bring the brand to life.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in art design graphic communications marketing or related field .
  • Minimum eight years of experience in brand strategy creative execution and activation with a demonstrated ability to develop and deliver compelling content and experiences across diverse platforms to enhance brand engagement and visibility.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of digital platforms and systems like the Adobe Suite (InDesign Workfront) Marketing Cloud Mail Chimp and WordPress.

Knowledge Skill Ability:

  • Demonstrated expertise in brand development and management with a strong portfolio of work that shows impact across digital and physical experiences.
  • Deep understanding of visual identity systems creative direction and brand storytelling across multiple channels.
  • Experience leading cross-functional brand initiatives that align with institutional goals and drive engagement.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into cohesive compelling brand experiences that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Strong collaboration skills with experience working alongside communications marketing enrollment and advancement teams.
  • Proven ability to manage creative professionals and foster an environment that encourages innovation quality and accountability.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to set vision and direction while also managing execution details.
  • Familiarity with higher education audiences and an understanding of how to adapt brand experiences for prospective students alumni donors and community partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with a high degree of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with creative software tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite) brand management platforms and project management tools.
  • Demonstrated Emotional Intelligence flexibility and professional maturity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Brand Leadership and Strategy (50%)

  • Lead the evolution and implementation of Adler Universitys visual and experiential brand identity across all platforms and materials.
  • Define and maintain brand standards and guidelines ensuring consistency in tone visuals and messaging.
  • Serve as a strategic partner across the University in shaping brand architecture and storytelling approaches.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align brand strategy with institutional goals and key initiatives.
  • Oversee the creation of branded assets toolkits and templates for use across the University.

Creative Direction and Execution (30%)

  • Lead and contribute to the visual direction of major campaigns institutional communications and public-facing materials.
  • Design high-impact creative assets and support production needs particularly for priority initiatives and brand-defining work.
  • Manage creative vendors and consultants as needed ensuring high-quality output and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Provide hands-on guidance and feedback to in-house creatives and cross-functional teams.
  • Review and refine creative deliverables for brand alignment visual impact and audience engagement.

Team Leadership and Collaboration (20%)

  • Manage and mentor creative team members fostering professional development and creative excellence.
  • Collaborate with departments across Enrollment Institutional Advancement and Academic Affairs to ensure cohesive brand execution.
  • Contribute to cross-divisional initiatives offering brand expertise in campaign planning event design and digital experience strategy.
  • Support team resourcing and future hiring to meet evolving brand needs and priorities.

Work Environment (Physical Demands): The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: some lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling and significant fine finger dexterity. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

Anticipated Compensation: $100000.00-$120000.00 USD
