  • Position Opening: Part-Time Middle School Teacher (Grades 5/6)
    Estimated 28 hours/week Co-Teaching Role Multi-Age 5th/6th Grade Classroom

    Saint Cecilia Catholic School is a joyful faith-filled PreK8 Catholic school located Bainbridge Island. Candidates must be knowledgeable of and experienced in working with primary school students. This position is a co-teaching self-contained classroom teaching all subjects including Religion Math Reading Language Arts and Social Studies. Teachers are supported with specialists teaching weekly classes in Music Active Spanish and PE. The candidate must know and provide quality lessons including the learning standards and developmental stages of middle school children as well as be adept in providing differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all students. The teacher must also practice good communication skills with students their parents and other faculty and staff.

    Compensation: $40000 to $50000 based on candidate experiences and skills in relation to the job description and the mission of the school. This position is not eligible for benefits.
    Any offering of salary is determined based on internal equity internal salary ranges market data applicant skills and prior relevant experience degrees and certifications.

    We are seeking a part-time middle school teacher to co-teach in a multi-age 5th/6th grade classroom beginning in theschool year. This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative teaching team in a small-school environment where each student is known supported and challenged to grow.
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Co-teach core subjects including ELA Social Studies Math Art and Religion
    • Collaborate with a co-teacher to plan and deliver engaging differentiated instruction for a mixed-grade classroom
    • Provide developmentally appropriate support for upper elementary and early middle school learners
    • Integrate faith service learning and Catholic values into classroom life
    • Participate in school-wide activities including liturgies community events and professional development
    Qualifications:
    • Background in middle school math instruction necessary
    • Bachelors degree in education or a related field (masters degree preferred)
    • Valid Washington State teaching certification (or eligibility)
    • 35 years of classroom experience preferably with upper elementary or middle school students
    • Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and use data to guide learning
    • Strong communication collaboration and classroom management skills
    Preferred Qualities:
    • Practicing Catholic strongly preferred
    • Enthusiastic about working in a faith-based school community
    • Ability to integrate academic rigor creativity and student engagement
    • Commitment to professional growth and reflective teaching practice
    • Values small-school collaboration and contributing to a close-knit community
    • Demonstrates skill in differentiating for a wide variety of learners including enrichment and support
