The State College Area School District (SCASD) is seeking an inspiring experienced leader for the position of Assistant Director of Curriculum and Academic Interventions. This is a key administrative role supporting K-12 students through Federal Programs and academic tiered-intervention services. The Assistant Director will work with the Districts Curriculum Office and leadership team contributing to strategic planning policy development grant management and district-wide problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as District Federal Programs Coordinator overseeing federal grant compliance budgeting and nonpublic school supervision.
- Manage grant writing and reporting including the Federal Consolidated Application and other eligible programs.
- Collaborate with district offices including but not limited to accounting human resources and other stakeholder teams to ensure compliance with all federal state and local regulations.
- Serve as liaison to the PA Department of Education and regional state and national organizations to ensure knowledge of developing best practices in educational leadership and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide leadership vision and professional development to Elementary Reading Specialists MTSS/Math Intervention and Support teachers and other building-based academic interventionists to ensure the success implementation and alignment of evidence-based practices resources and professional development. Ensure equitable access to literacy for all students and schools.
- Ensure equitable access to literacy and math intervention support across schools including supporting resource inventory and purchasing.
- Collecting analyzing and interpreting academic intervention data to support data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with the Curriculum Office and K-12 building and district administrators to ensure interventions support the core curriculum.
- Plan supervise and collaborate with other directors on the districts summer intervention program (CHAMPS).
- Foster a culture of collaboration trust and high expectations.
- Align efforts with district strategic goals through partnerships and effective budgeting.
Candidate Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is an educational leader with:
- In-depth knowledge of a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) and structured literacy including a K-12 Reading Specialist Certificate or the ability to obtain one.
- Successful K-12 leadership experience preferred with a solid background in elementary and secondary intervention systems and alignment.
- Experience managing Federal Programs grants and budgeting.
- A background in equity restorative practices and trauma-informed culturally responsive education.
- Strong strategic thinking planning and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Required Qualifications:
- Masters degree in an applicable field.
- PA certification (or ability to obtain by June 2026) in one of the following:
- Principal PK-12
- Supervisor of Pupil Personnel Services K-12
- District Superintendent
