We are partnering with a leading international logistics provider undergoing strategic development across its European operations. They are now looking to appoint a seasoned Head of Operations to lead their Freight Management unit in Hungary. The role is ideal for someone with a strong command of end-to-end transport operations leadership of operational teams and the commercial acumen to support business growth in a competitive market.
This is a key role with full ownership of the operations lifecycle reporting directly to the Country General Manager. You will shape strategy drive performance and align operational delivery with commercial goals across multi-modal logistics services.

As Head of Operations your core responsibilities will include:
- Leading coaching and developing a team of logistics professionals with full accountability for performance management onboarding and growth.
- Overseeing the of customer transport orders across Europe ensuring service delivery is timely accurate and within budget.
- Aligning operational resources to meet growing business demands and supporting commercial teams with operational insights and market intelligence.
- Ensuring accurate capacity planning and optimal haulier utilization to maximize profitability and efficiency.
- Coordinating with internal departments customers and hauliers to proactively address disruptions resolve issues and improve workflows.
- Monitoring KPIs and cost metrics (AMR margin volumes) and reporting operational performance to senior management on a regular basis.
- Driving continuous improvement through better use of the Transport Management System and promoting data accuracy and system compliance.
- Enforcing safety compliance and policy standards across all operational processes.
Requirements:
Essential:
- 10 years of experience in freight forwarding or 3PL logistics with direct operational ownership
- 5 years of experience in team and budget management
- Fluency in Hungarian and English
- Deep knowledge of European transport markets and freight networks
- Demonstrated ability to manage costs lead teams and deliver on performance targets
- Hands-on collaborative leadership style with strong communication skills
Desirable:
- Experience in multimodal logistics or account management
- Familiarity with project-based logistics or growth-stage environments
- Training or certification in project or operations management
