What You ll Be Doing:
- Supervise lessons across a range of subjects and year groups in a vibrant secondary school environment
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure students remain engaged and focused
- Manage behaviour in line with school policies promoting respect and a calm learning atmosphere
- Support students with their learning encouraging participation and resilience
- Provide feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and behaviour during cover lessons
- Step up when needed from mentoring small groups to supporting with intervention and enrichment sessions
Who We re Looking For:
- Graduates in Education Psychology English Maths Science Humanities or related fields
- Confident communicators with the presence to lead a classroom teaching experience not required!
- Flexible reliable and calm under pressure
- Passionate about working with young people and making a positive impact on their education
- Experience in a school youth work tutoring or coaching environment is a bonus (but not essential)
- Willing to learn full training and ongoing CPD provided

Cover Supervisors must have strong classroom management skills and the confidence to lead lessons across a variety of subjects. Clear communication and the ability to engage students effectively are essential. They should be adaptable, reliable, and capable of following lesson plans left by absent teachers. Experience working with secondary-aged pupils is preferred, though not always required. A calm, professional manner and a genuine interest in supporting student learning are key to success in this role.
Education
Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths typically at grade C/4 or above. A-Level qualifications or a university degree desirable, especially in education or relevant subjects. Classroom or school experience paid or voluntary experience in an educational setting is highly valued. Safeguarding training often provided upon placement, but prior knowledge is advantageous.
