Traffic Engineer

AECOM Technical Services Inc. is seeking a Traffic Engineer in Houston TX.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support a variety of engineering planning and data analysis tasks for technology transportation and traffic applications.
• Solve multimodal transportation problems involving emerging technologies in the transportation industry (CAV EV or TNC).
• Analyze a wide range of transportation data and provide assistance with technical analyses feasibility studies and other transportation reports or memorandums.
• Conduct traffic operations simulations and capacity analysis for intersections and corridors.
• Analyze crash data to identify crash patterns probable causes and develop recommendations to address them.
• Assist in tasks related to signal retiming traffic impact studies corridor planning studies existing and future predictive safety studies.
• Perform traffic simulation using software such as Synchro TransModeler and VISSIM.
• Create engineering designs using software such as Microstation SignCAD AutoTURN and AGI32.
• Perform data collection processing and analysis using software such as PowerBI Tableau ArcGIS Python R and Excel.
• Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.
• Prepare technical reports and deliver effective presentations.

Qualifications :

Candidates must have a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Transportation Engineering or related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a traffic or transportation engineering-related occupation.

12. Understanding emerging technology in the transportation industry: Connected Autonomous Vehicles (CAV) and strategic planning;
13. Develop project level traffic forecasts;
14. Innovative intersection analysis:
15. Conduct traffic operations simulations and capacity analysis for intersections and corridors; and
16. Signal retiming corridor studies existing and future predictive safety studies.
