Position Summary:
Working in the Registrars Office (RO) the Transfer Credit Officer is responsible for the transfer credit cycle which includes communicating with applicants on the transfer credit processes eligibility of courses for transfer credits and the processing the transfer credits on the Student Information System (SIS). The Transfer Credit Officer is expected to apply established standards to ensure adherence with transfer credit policy procedures and guidelines.
This position requires the incumbent to be onsite 3 days weekly.
Duties:
- Implements and maintains a transfer credit database to be used by prospective students applicants students faculty and staff
- Reviews post-secondary transcripts for eligibility of transfer credits for all applicants who are receiving an offer of admission to a direct entry program to ensure on-admission transfer credits are clearly noted on the offer of admission
- Processes and issues all refunds for based program students (including refunds back to OSAP and NSLC)
- Processes on-admission transfer credits for newly admitted students
- Provides administrative support for other areas of the Registrars Office as directed by the Assistant Registrar or the Registrar during peak periods of the academic cycle
- Other duties as assigned by the Registrar
Qualifications :
- Minimum education requirement of Bachelors degree.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a registrars office or in an admission office at the post-secondary level
- Experience in assessing transfer credits at the post-secondary level
- Experience in assessing domestic and international applications at the post-secondary level
- Experience with PowerCampus a strong asset.
- Experience with Zendesk a strong asset.
- Experience with a strong asset
- Strong excel skills
- Demonstrated ability to make independent judgement
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly with applicants students faculty and staff verbally and in writing. Ability to maintain professional and positive attitude when speaking with applicants Michener staff and the public.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications experience using Student Information System and Ticketing system considered an asset
- Satisfactory Canadian Police Clearance document required upon hire
