Job Description

Position Summary

The Shipping Lead position ensures customer delight in a cross-functional support role within the shipping department with extensive higher-level function.  This role is expected to manage the receiving of valves into the shipping area setting packing closing auditing and shipping customer orders.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under general supervision perform the essential duties and responsibilities outlined herein:

  • Supervise receiving packing and shipping operations
  • Assure quality of work conforms to organizational policies procedures and government regulations
  • Maintain Workflow and optimal throughput and safety
  • Sustain metrics and help analyze data to assess performance of personnel
  • Utilize knowledge of parts to identify bad or mixed valves and piece part accuracy
  • Satisfy training requirements for various positions in the shipping process
  • Receive valves from assembly accurately
  • Collect all material for Manifold Assembly and verify against BOM
  • Match MOs for kit orders applying knowledge of CO and MO correlation and scheduling
  • Manage inventory levels for shipping supplies
  • Coordinate workload for staff shifting personnel as needs arise
  • Manage the accuracy and timeliness of material being packed staged and shipped
  • Supervise shipping document accuracy and completion without supervision
  • Ensure Product is accurately and safely packed and organized per written and verbal instructions
  • Develop implement and maintain processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency
  • Identify Opportunities for continuous improvement and create actions to achieve results
  • Record product packaging and order information on specified labels forms and records
  • Measure weigh and count products and materials
  • Audit shipments to verify order accuracy and packing specifications are met
  • Address any discrepancies with Accounting and Purchasing
  • Work Closely with Customer Service to assure clear communication and customer satisfaction
  • Manage the creation of BOLs ASNs and SLI requests
  • Identify errors and provide continuous improvement ideas
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position requires accountability for supervising personnel providing guidance and adequate staffing.  This roll oversees the supply chain process to achieve optimal results through various methods getting tasks completed with a hands-on approach while utilizing high-level communications skills.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to do the following:

  • Lift and move up to 50 pounds repetitively
  • Walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Push carts with heavy loads

Work Environment

  • Majority of the work time is spent in a manufacturing environment where temperatures are often warm or cool depending upon the season and noise level can be moderate to high
  • PPE required as determined by company safety standards:  safety glasses ear plugs gloves safety shoes

 


Qualifications :

  • HS diploma or Equivalent
  • Familiarity with HydraForce parts and ability to discern product required
  • Prior Small Parcel and Freight Shipping Knowledge Preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Extensive knowledge of RF Scanners and/or Fourth Shift required
  • Manage workflow between departments and other team members
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • TWI Trainer Required
  • Q-pulse Knowledge required
  • Material Handling Equipment Knowledge such as electric banders aerial lifts stackers electric pallet jacks and skid wrappers preferred
  • Forklift certification preferred

 


Additional Information :

 

The hourly rate for the position is in-between $ 20.00- $28.00. Within the range individual pay is determined based on several factors including but not limited to work experience and job knowledge complexity of the role job location etc. The Recruiter can share more details about the specific salary range during the interview process.
