Job Description

Training and Grant Partnerships Manager

Job Summary:

New Mexico Immigrant Law Center (NMILC) has an immediate opening for a full-time Training and Grant Partnerships Manager to strengthen and build alliances with over 40 strategic community partners develop materials for educational trainings and outreach provide training sessions to stakeholders across the state at a time of unprecedented need for immigrant rights education.

This position is meant for an individual who is experienced in immigration legal services a dynamic bilingual trainer and community educator with a close attention to detail to govern the formal aspects of partnerships such as subgrant agreements and tracking grant deliverables. This position will report directly to the Director of Program Quality Assurance and will also work closely with all of NMILCs teams to support all aspects of partner relationships.

They will be responsible for establishing maintaining and systemizing partnerships with community social service organizations community based organizations state agency departments and their contractors home visitors school districts and more. This individual will also be primarily responsible for creating appropriate and sustainable mechanisms for community outreach and training for services developing and customizing educational materials for different audiences developing and updating referral processes between partners developing relationships with all entities described and serving as the primary NMILC liaison with organizational partners in furtherance of partnership goals. They will also lead the implementation of all formal arrangements relating to partners such as MOUs subgrant monitoring co-designing and implementing related surveys and evaluation tools invoicing for training sessions grant reporting and tracking deliverables across all of NMILCs partnerships-related work. They will project manage at a high level the complex state-wide training initiatives involving many of NMILCs teams partners and grants.



This is an ideal position for someone who matches one of these career profiles

  • An attorney or DOJ Accredited Representative with immigration law experience ideally representing immigrants in humanitarian forms of relief who is looking to take a step back from direct representation.
  • A seasoned immigration paralegal professional who has experience building deep relationships with community partners managing projects and is a dynamic speaker and trainer.

Because the essence of this role is nurturing community partner relationships developing customized trainings and education materials with a wide variety of stakeholders and tracking and reporting these activities to funders a candidate with the following skills and experiences will be most successful

  • Customer service mindset this is someone who seeks to understand diverse community non-profit and government partner needs and takes strategic action to meet those needs and quickly solve problems while maintaining a positive attitude. They act with courtesy patience and poise and are excited to share NMILCs work with others.
  • Is responsive and dependable this person is proactive and skilled at building rapport with stakeholders appreciates the need to be responsive and act on time-sensitive inquiries responds to stakeholder emails and calls promptly (another way that they nurture relationships) and can be counted on to promptly follow through on tasks and communication. This person can be trusted to manage and meet deadlines and complete tasks in a timely manner without the need for extensive oversight.
  • Is exceptionally organized this person is not easily overwhelmed and excellent at prioritizing and handling multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously and can independently run outreach and education campaigns and trainings. This person naturally conceptualizes workflow through a systems approach thrives on innovating to make tasks more streamlined and works quickly and accurately.
  • Skilled educator this person excels and developing educational materials for community groups in digestible formats and working with communications teams. They also have experience and confidence speaking and presenting to large groups. They are familiar with New Mexico and willing to travel throughout the state and locally to meet with and train partner organizations.
  • Is a strong project manager this person has very strong cross-team communication skills and proactively updates their supervisor leadership teams and other internal stakeholders regarding project progress prioritization reprioritization and has high standards for tracking multiple types of internal and external deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Bilingual Spanish/English
  • Ability to provide presentation in Spanish and English and draft professional written educational materials in both languages.
  • Immigration legal background
  • Prior work in non-profit setting
  • Experience with public speaking planning and facilitating workshops trainings meetings and other community events for a variety of audiences.
  • Experience developing community educational materials including creating PowerPoints and graphics.
  • Experience with databases and data tracking. Meticulous attention to detail and proven ability meet deadlines.

Location:

  • This position is hybrid based out of NMILCs office in Santa Fe or Albuquerque NM but requires travel for in-person trainings state-wide.

Compensation:

  • This is a full-time non-exempt position. Hourly rate is commensurate with experience starting at the rate of $31.50/hour.
  • Compensation includes a generous benefits package including excellent health insurance (100% of individual employee health premium paid by NMILC for the Base Plan and 50% for dependents. Buy-up Plan also available) life insurance short-term and long-term disability insurance eligibility to participate in NMILCs 401(k) retirement plan (with discretionary employer match up to 10% of base salary) and flexible spending plan.

  • Flexible work schedule and hybrid remote work options.
  • 15 paid vacation days (3 weeks) annually.

  • Company-paid federal holidays in addition to 2 weeks of winter break 1 week for spring break and 1 week for summer break and other days as established in coordination with the local public-school schedule.
