Job Description
The Cape Girardeau Public School District is seeking a Part-time MathTeacher for Terry W. Kitchen Junior HighSchool for the 2025-26 academic year.
The Math teacher is responsible for facilitating the learning of 7th and 8th grade mathematics content for every student by creating a stimulating learning environment and reteaching academic lessons to assist all students in reaching their own academic potential.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Math Education
- Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate
- Strong mathematical content knowledge
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledgeable of teaching techniques that meet the needs of a diverse student population
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams and nurture relationships
- An aptitude for mentoring and fostering teacher-student relationships
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree and/or Advanced Mathematics Certificate
- Prior experience teaching Algebra and Geometry content
- Previous experience working with Power of ICU Program
- Working knowledge of Professional Learning Communities
