About this opportunity:
The Drilling Systems Engineer is responsible for providing technical support for drilling-related systems on the SeaRose FPSO and WWR Platform supporting safe and efficient drilling operations through system integrity troubleshooting and engineering modifications.
What youll do:
Provide engineering support to Drilling and Operations teams for drilling equipment and systems ensuring reliability and compliance with offshore standards
Lead the development and implementation of system changes for drilling infrastructure stewarding all modifications through the MOC process
Participate in abnormal or non-routine operations including troubleshooting drilling systems supporting risk assessments (HAZOPs PHAs) and developing mitigation plans
Act as the subject matter expert for Safety Critical Elements on the WWR platform and maintain accurate system descriptions and lifecycle documentation
Collaborate in a multi-discipline engineering environment for selection and purchase of new equipment detailed design input and engineering investigations
Maintain active involvement in COIMS processes related to drilling system design integrity management and emergency preparedness including Emergency Response Team participation
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in Canada
Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering
Member in good standing or eligible for registration with Professional Engineers and Geoscientists Newfoundland & Labrador (PEGNL)
Minimum 8 years experience within the oil and gas industry
In-depth knowledge of the Oil & Gas Industry and Regulatory & Certifying Authority regulations codes & standards
Experience with Hazards and Operability Studies (HAZOPs) Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs) & Risk Assessments

This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to pre-placement Fitness for Work assessments which includes drug and alcohol screening a medical and drivers abstract review
