About this opportunity:

The Drilling Systems Engineer is responsible for providing technical support for drilling-related systems on the SeaRose FPSO and WWR Platform supporting safe and efficient drilling operations through system integrity troubleshooting and engineering modifications.

What youll do:

  • Provide engineering support to Drilling and Operations teams for drilling equipment and systems ensuring reliability and compliance with offshore standards

  • Lead the development and implementation of system changes for drilling infrastructure stewarding all modifications through the MOC process

  • Participate in abnormal or non-routine operations including troubleshooting drilling systems supporting risk assessments (HAZOPs PHAs) and developing mitigation plans

  • Act as the subject matter expert for Safety Critical Elements on the WWR platform and maintain accurate system descriptions and lifecycle documentation

  • Collaborate in a multi-discipline engineering environment for selection and purchase of new equipment detailed design input and engineering investigations

  • Maintain active involvement in COIMS processes related to drilling system design integrity management and emergency preparedness including Emergency Response Team participation

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering

  • Member in good standing or eligible for registration with Professional Engineers and Geoscientists Newfoundland & Labrador (PEGNL)

  • Minimum 8 years experience within the oil and gas industry

  • In-depth knowledge of the Oil & Gas Industry and Regulatory & Certifying Authority regulations codes & standards

  • Experience with Hazards and Operability Studies (HAZOPs) Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs) & Risk Assessments

This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to pre-placement Fitness for Work assessments which includes drug and alcohol screening a medical and drivers abstract review
