Job Description

Dedicated self-motivated full-time Exceptional Childrens Instructional Assistant needed at IC Imagine Charter School in Asheville NC. Will assist students in kindergarten through 5th grades. Modified year-round school schedule.
Pay based on IC Imagines Salary Schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must maintain positive and consistent communication with students and teachers related to academics behavior and attendance of students
- Work cohesively in a team setting
- Ability to work one-on-one with students as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other support staff
- Utilize a positive reinforcement behavioral system
- Assist classroom teacher in performing specific duties as assigned or undertaking specialized tasks to achieve and enhance instructional and behavioral objectives
- Work with individuals small groups or large groups as assigned
- Assist with behavior modification as assigned
- Escort students as assigned
- Monitor students during assigned periods within a variety of school environments for the purpose of maintaining a safe and positive learning environment
- Provide programmed practice activities and repetitions as developed by teacher therapist or pathologist.
- Report student concerns directly and expeditiously to the teacher and assist with student resolution.
- Assist students with breakfast lunch snack including clean-up.
- Assist students with basic daily living skills.
- Maintain various records and files.
- Follow the processes laid out in the employee handbook respond to emails in a timely manner and ensure timely feedback is given
- Perform related work as required.
- Other duties may be assigned
Skills and Abilities:
- Self-motivated
- Skilled in problem solving and decision making as well as observation listening and coaching
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Maintain effective working relationships
- Possess strong time management skills
- Ability to prioritize workload and multitask in a busy environment
- Proficiency with GSuite
Education and Experience:
- Minimum High School Diploma
- 1 year of experience working with students in a school setting preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing kneeling squatting reaching and bending
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to65pounds at times
