Job Description

Part-Time SSYI Program Coordinator

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Associate Director of Justice-Based Initiatives the Safe and Successful Youth Initiative (SSYI) Program Coordinator supports a statewide initiative aimed at reducing youth violence in communities highly impacted by youth violence. The SSYI Program Coordinator will support SSYI with the following programmatic and administrative duties: 1) organizing and running monthly technical assistance groups for staff across the SSYI cities sharing best practices engaging in discussions with other leaders and providing support across the core service areas (education employment and behavioral health); 2) supporting budget and expenditure management of SSYI grantees; and 3) participating in site visits and providing administrative support functions for the Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) as needed.

Please note that this role is funded under a contract agreement with EOHHS and contingent upon a contract renewal under the SSYI program.

Report to: Jennifer Javier Associate Director of Justice-Based Initiatives

Department: Youth & Justice

Salary: Commensurate with experience. This is an hourly position for 20 hours per week (average). Hybrid with most work conducted remotely. No benefits are offered with this position.

Project Timeline: Mid-July 2025 to December 2025

Key Consultant Duties and Responsibilities Include:

Develop robust Technical Assistance (TA) sessions for direct service staff based on feedback from sites Senior Program Managers and EOHHS. This may involve formal trainings informal discussion groups issue specific TA professional development offerings and overall network strength building.

Attend & facilitate monthly SSYI Affinity Group TA sessions (planning scheduling agenda creating PowerPoints notetaking upkeep arranging for and contracting with outside guest speakers etc.).

Conduct reviews of SSYI budgets and expenditures in Excel and track grantee and subgrantee spending and make connections to programmatic data.

Participate in and provide feedback on virtual and in-person monthly site visits for SSYI funded sites.

Perform other duties as needed.

Knowledge Skills and Competencies:

Understanding of the issues facing proven-risk young men & women

Understanding of current and emerging issues in youth development and workforce development programs.

Demonstrated resourcefulness in integrating a wide range of information into engaging training materials and program design

Fiscal monitoring experience.

Prior experience leading workshops; strong facilitation skills with an understanding of group dynamics and effective style

Ability to effectively structure and implement own work

Detail oriented highly organized and enthusiastic

Ability to travel across the state for site visits

Minimum Qualifications:

Relevant program and/or grants management experience required.

Professional level writing math and interpersonal skills required.

Developed administrative ability with extensive knowledge of MS Office Suite

Drivers License and access to reliable transportation for reimbursed in-state travel.
