VETERAN CAREGIVER SPECIALISTprovides essential care and support to veterans who need assistance with daily living activities in their homes.
JOB SUMMARY:The Home Health Aide will provide compassionate hands-on assistance to veterans in their homes ensuring their comfort safety and well-being. The role involves personal care companionship and support with daily activities tailored to the unique needs of veterans.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist veterans withpersonal caretasks such as bathing dressing grooming and toileting.
- Providemobility support including transferring positioning and walking assistance.
- Help withmeal preparationand ensure proper nutrition based on dietary needs.
- Administermedication remindersand monitor health conditions.
- Offercompanionshipand emotional support fostering a respectful and understanding environment.
- Performlight housekeepingduties including laundry and maintaining a clean living space.
- Assist withtransportationto medical appointments therapy sessions or community activities.
- Communicate effectively withveterans families and healthcare providersto ensure coordinated care.
- FollowVA guidelinesand protocols for home health services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge ofVA healthcare programsand veteran-specific needs.
- Ability to travel between clients homes daily
- Strongcommunication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and providecompassionate care.
- Experience working withveteransor individuals with disabilities is preferred
