The Customer Development Manager for Sobeys manages all aspects of Colgates relationship with the customer. This position negotiates with the customer to achieve the companys 5P strategies for all of Colgates brands/categories and deliver annual sales/share targets within spending parameters. A key member of the Customer Development Organization the incumbent will help drive superior business results through relationship building solid analytics program evaluation and development and delivery of business plans.

What you will do:

  • Work independently to develop negotiate and implement a Customer Plan to achieve Financial and 5P Objectives for all of Colgates brands/categories and deliver annual sales/share targets.
  • Responsible for directly managing Sobeys Inc. (IGA Sobeys Conventional & Fresh Co.) fostering strong account relationships strategically planning business to grow/drive sales and ensuring profit goals are met Deliver sales targets within investment guidelines and alignment with brand strategy
  • Develop the relationship across the customers organization (buying merchandising retailing ecomm) and build customer intelligence as it relates to Colgates Financial and 5P Objectives
  • Deliver sales targets within investment guidelines and alignment with brand strategy
  • Utilize efficiently available Category Management Tools (e.g. Nielsen Desktop Numerator & Circana) and Demand Planning tools to understand consumption and shipment data to identify brand/category performance trends and opportunities
  • Strategize and recommend promotional plans which meet specific customer needs and company sales goals
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams such as the Customer Development Marketing Finance and Supply Chain functions to build business opportunities and ensure planning accuracy
  • Analyze customer demand sales volumes current and future trends and own the process for assigned categories

Basic Qualications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5 years sales experience in a Customer Development role in the consumer products industry
  • Proficient skills in Circana Microsoft applications Word Excel PowerPoint Access Lotus Notes ACNs Workstation Plus
  • Experience in developing strategies and plans to respond to shoppers/customer trends delivering against the commercial goals


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Category Management and field sales experience
