Job Description
As an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist (EHS Specialist) youll play a vital role in keeping Virginia Tech residential and dining spaces a safe and healthy environment. Your work directly impacts the Hokie experience by ensuring that students have a safe comfortable and healthy living environment to live and learn in. From conducting routine building walkthroughs to inspecting fire extinguishers exit signs and emergency lights to conducting pest control treatments and mold surveys youll help maintain the spaces where students live study and build lifelong memories.
Through your efforts youll assist students with their needs in dorm rooms and living areas making a real difference in their day-to-day lives.
Primary Responsibilities:
Carry out pest control inspections and treatments
Inspect fire extinguishers exit lights and emergency lights
Conduct mold surveys and remediation efforts
Conduct asbestos and lead sampling
Required Qualifications
Highschool diploma or equivalent
Ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
Commercial Applicator Pest Control Licensure
Registered Pest Control Technician Licensure
Mold survey and remediation experience
Asbestos and Lead-Based Paint experience
