We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Special Education Administrator to provide comprehensive administrative support to building principals with a particular focus on procedural safeguards and technical assistance across all areas of special education. In this vital role the administrator works closely with principals to monitor and evaluate the work of special education professionals and support staff ensuring consistency and high standards of service delivery. They also consult with school leadership regarding discipline procedures for students with disabilities promoting compliance with legal requirements and equity in disciplinary administrator coordinates and oversees the effective implementation of special education instruction and related services ensuring all aspects align with students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). They are responsible for making sure these services are delivered in the least restrictive environment and are of the highest quality. This includes scheduling and facilitating IEP Team meetings often serving as the district representative and ensuring that each meeting is productive compliant and compliance with all local state and federal laws governing special education is a central component of this role. The administrator works in collaboration with special education teams to guarantee that all documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time in accordance with applicable policies and procedures. IEPs must be developmentally appropriate aligned with curriculum standards and tailored to each students strengths and needs. The administrator plays a key role in ensuring the timely completion and distribution of IEP progress reports to principals teachers and critical responsibility of this role is supporting and empowering special education staff. The administrator provides training and ongoing technical assistance to case managers related service providers and support staff to promote best practices and improve outcomes for students. They are expected to stay abreast of current research legal developments and evolving best practices incorporating these insights into both existing programs and new addition to maintaining open clear and supportive communication with familiesparticularly around referrals evaluations annual and triennial IEP processes disciplinary procedures and procedural safeguardsthe administrator attends relevant training sessions conferences and workshops to enhance their expertise. They also participate in administrative meetings and work sessions as needed and may take on other duties or special projects as assigned by the Director of Special Education & Student Support Services.
