Maintenance Team Member
Maria Montessori Academy Victoria BC
Maria Montessori Academy is an independent school located in the Gordon Head area of Victoria BC. We are currently seeking a hardworking reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our dedicated Maintenance and Janitorial team.
This is a full-time position with some flexibility in scheduling. The successful candidate will join a team of two full-time staff responsible for the care cleanliness and upkeep of our school building and grounds.
Qualifications:
Minimum 18 months of experience in a similar maintenance or custodial role
Grade 12 graduation or equivalent
Clear criminal record check
The ideal candidate will be:
Friendly and professional with strong communication skills
Reliable punctual and capable of working independently
Highly organized and attentive to detail
Physical Requirements:
Able to perform repetitive tasks and handle physically demanding work
Comfortable lifting heavy loads and performing tasks involving bending crouching and kneeling
Key Responsibilities:
Clean and maintain floors hallways and stairwells (sweeping mopping scrubbing waxing)
Empty waste containers and manage recycling and garbage removal
Clean windows interior walls ceilings and bathrooms
Perform minor repairs on furniture fixtures and school systems
Move and arrange furniture equipment and supplies
Maintain school grounds: mowing lawns trimming plants tending to gardens
Remove snow and ice from walkways and parking areas
Perform general field and site maintenance
Work independently and collaboratively as needed
