Accountant Manager (Government Accounting)

The Boeing Company - Government Cost Accounting Allocations Accounting group is hiring an Accountant Manager (Government Accounting) (Level K) located in Hazelwood Missouri or Renton Washington.

The Government Cost Accounting Allocations Accounting group is responsible for:

  • Validating labor processing labor rate updates labor rate analysis labor retro validation labor suspense labor transfers contract labor supplemental compensation labor compliance checks and bulk labor processing for the Boeing enterprise with the exception of Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) and Boeing Global Services Commercial (BGS-C)
  • Supporting audits from Corporate Audit Deloitte and Touche (D&T) Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) related to labor incurrence and labor compliance
  • Establishing and maintaining the indirect cost allocations in accordance with our disclosed accounting practices and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • Handling allocations for Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) and Boeing Global Service Government (BGS-G) Accounting Business Units (ABUs)
  • Maintaining the overhead rate tables which are used to apply indirect burdens to contracts and other cost objectives
  • Responsible for our Incurred Cost Submission (ICS) to the Government each year; as each year is negotiated and settled with the Government the group ensures the proper rates are applied to all applicable contracts for each respective year
  • Supporting audits from Corporate Audit D&T DCMA and DCAA related to indirect cost allocations and our monthly closing processes

In this role ensuring adherence to both internal and external regulation is a paramount responsibility as there tends to be a lot of focus around indirect allocations and the ICS. As a business partner support function this group routinely interacts with a variety of program finance groups and accounting groups including but not limited to the Rate Forecasting Team Accounts Receivable and Financial Accounting.

As the Accountant Manager (Government Accounting) your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing employees performance related to performing day-to-day task and achieving organizational goals
  • Leading coaching mentoring motivating and developing the employees you manage
  • Developing and executing integrated organizational plans policies and procedures and guiding the development of business and technical strategies goals objectives
  • Acquiring resources for organizational activities and leading process improvements
  • Developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with customers stakeholders peers partners and direct reports
  • Providing oversight and approval of technical approaches products and processes.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring teams discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors degree or higher
  • 5 years of experience in an accounting or finance related role

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors degree or higher in accounting finance business or a related field
  • 3 years of experience leading and/or managing projects and/or teams
  • 3 years of experience in Government Accounting

Summary pay range for Hazelwood MO: $103700 - $140300

Summary pay range for Renton WA: $111350 - $150650
