JOB SUMMARY:
The show set design intern will assist the design development and delivery of the most compelling entertainment experiences around the world using multiple techniques and digital tools detailing overall concepts and construction methods.
Candidate will support the creative team to generate ideas and design studies through coordination drawings digital models and conceptual artwork that integrate the scenic elements into the overall environment and maintain the design intent of the show for bidding construction production and installation purposes.
They will learn about the conceptual iteration process for immersive theme park attractions and gain hands-on experience with the project team including exposure to the relevant design disciplines and park operations partners.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The show set design intern will assist in articulating creative intent through 2D drawings and 3D models that communicate the details and coordination of the various show facility and technical elements of an attraction or experience (such as scenery/set walls architecture ride system special effects show action equipment animated figures props A/V and lighting).
- As an integral part of the attraction development process successful candidates will develop positive and productive relationships with project partners based on effective communication trust and teamwork.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy procedures training and Team Member involvement activities
- Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- In pursuit of an Associate Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
- Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
- A transcript is required upon application.
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Preferred majors include: Themed Entertainment Architecture Theatre Design Scenic Design Production Design Interior Design
- Relevant coursework in Themed Entertainment Architecture Set Design Illustration Digital Design Game Design.
- Skillset includes Drafting 3D modeling Rendering Sketching Illustration.
- Software proficiency with AutoCAD Revit Adobe Suite.
- Preferred knowledge of Rhino Sketchup 3ds Max Maya Unreal Blender Lumion Enscape TwinMotion software (including experience with interoperability between programs).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

- This internship will be an in-person experience based in our Orlando offices.
- Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university and must have a graduation date later than April 2026.
- Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
