You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Amherst Public School District is currently seeking highly qualified applicants for the position of Elementary Instrumental Teacher. The teacher will provide music instruction to students at 4-6 level at three elementary schools to include instruments.
Requirements include:
Experience with orchestras and classroom instruction for musical instruments at the Elementary level.
Experience providing an enthusiastic and positive learning climate that promotes appropriate behavior and successful learning.
Experience managing and maintaining school-owned instruments and an instrument rental program for students.
Strong team player conscientious organized ability to relate well to students and staff.
Ability to develop and maintain strong productive relationships with other staff parents and students where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
Ability to implement music through technology.
Ability to collect meaningful data to drive instruction in a way that all students will have an opportunity to learn.
Demonstrated understanding and application of Massachusetts Arts Curriculum framework including standards assessment and curriculum integration
Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality in all matters pertaining to students parents staff and programs.
Reliable transportation throughout the school day.
Ability to modify written music to accommodate student needs.
Preferred: Experience teaching and working across multiple school buildings as an itinerant educator
