Every class starts the day with a Responsive Classroom Morning Meeting which sets the foundation for a positive environment where ownership of learning and personal responsibility are the focus. Student-directed All-School Meetings support the idea that children are responsible for building our school expect all teachers to come to us with Responsive Classroom training or that applicants are open to attending Responsive Classroom training in their first years at Baldwin.
We expect our teachers to be life-long learners who are committed excellence in academics and who are committed to partnering with parents and thinking about social-emotional learning just as much as academic learning.
Technology and expanded arts instruction are integrated into teaching and learning at Baldwin so that students can become experts in using technology and creative expression to learn and explore.

The Opportunity:
The Maria L. Baldwin School seeks an experienced 4th grade teacher to join our caring and innovative community. The successful candidate will have experience planning implementing and adapting curriculum based on the Massachusetts State Frameworks and/or the Common Core. The candidate will set high expectations for all students and utilize scaffolding and differentiation to support students. The teacher will have an appreciation and awareness for the unique developmental needs of young people in this age band. As a professional the teacher will display a collegial spirit that supports and enhances continual professional growth consistent with the educational goals and philosophies of the Baldwin School and be fully committed to continuously learning improving reflecting and working together as a community to ensure that all students achieve at high levels. Applicants with training in culturally responsive instruction are highly candidates must be open to engaging in conversations about the intersection between race and educationcritical conversations that ground our improvement efforts.
