Job Description

Queensland Revenue Office (QRO) is seeking a dynamic and visionary senior executive to join our Executive Leadership Team as Assistant Commissioner. This is an outstanding opportunity to influence public sector outcomes and help fund essential services and infrastructure including education health public safety and transport services.

As Assistant Commissioner you will report directly to a Deputy Commissioner and be responsible for one of QROs major service groups - Taxes; Revenue and Grants; Fines and SPER (State Penalties Enforcement Registry); or Enabling Services. You will lead a team of approximately 200 professionals and drive the strategic direction service delivery and performance of a QRO group.

About the Role

As part of QROs executive leadership team you will:

  • Lead strategic planning operational delivery and performance across a major functional group.
  • Deliver efficient high-quality revenue compliance and grant administration services to Queenslanders.
  • Lead high performing client focused teams
  • Provide expert policy legislative and operational advice to key stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of accountability service excellence innovation and professional growth.
  • Engage across government and with the community to build partnerships that advance whole-of-government priorities.

About You

Were looking for a collaborative strategic executive with:

  • A strong track record of senior leadership in a large and complex organisation (public or private sector).
  • Deep experience in navigating complex environments fostering high-performing cultures and delivering client-centric outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory governance compliance and/or public policy environments.
  • Proven ability to lead large teams drive performance and deliver outcomes at scale.
  • Outstanding communication stakeholder engagement and leadership capability
