JOB TITLE: ACCOUNT CLERK III
JOB GOAL: The Accounting Clerk III performs a variety of general accounting support tasks in the business department.
REPORTS TO: Chief Financial and Operating Officer
JOB GOAL: To assure effective operation of general accounting/financial matters specifically related to the business department and supporting District initiatives and services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree in Accounting Finance or Business preferred
- A minimum of three years experience in accounting finance or managing accounts receivable and/or payable
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word and Excel
- Proficient in bookkeeping and accounts payable
- Experience working in human resources preferred
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain financial records such as accounts receivable accounts payable payroll and journal entries
- Receive verify and audit invoices and receipts for supplies equipment and services; contact district personnel to verify orders receipts and signatures
- Compile sort code post and compare financial and statistical data
- Prepare and generate a variety of financial and statistical reports
- Interact with vendors and district personnel to research discrepancies correct errors resolve problems and assist with preparation and maintenance of records and reports
- Provide information regarding accounting policies procedures and practices to district personnel vendors and others; interpret apply and explain district policies and regulations as needed
- Complete special projects as assigned
- Assist in month end reporting procedures
- Find and use accounting data to resolve accounting problems and discrepancies
- Assist in onboarding new hires including substitutes
- Assist in meeting with staff for FML or Workers Compensation requests
- Perform filing and general administrative tasks in business and personnel office
- Other duties as assigned by Finance Officer or Chief Operations Officer

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Indoor environmentally controlled. Typical school/office environment including but not limited to telephones personal interruptions background noises. Requires working with or near the public parents and children and will be subject to sounds scents and other related environmental factors. This position will require dealing with conflict and requires use of sound judgment.

EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the boards policy on Evaluation of Classified Staff. Evaluation will be conducted by the Chief Financial and Operating Officer.
