The Advanced Math & Science Academy Charter School is currently accepting applications for the Director of School Counseling position for the 2025-2026 school and Staff Members at the Advanced Math and Science Academy will:Focus intensely on increasing achievement content knowledge and character growth for all inspiring challenging and effective teaching and learning experiences for all of our committed to serving all students including English Language Learners and Students with Disabilities in the context of the regular education classroom using a variety of inclusion to a strong and supportive professional learning Director will lead our counseling department in providing comprehensive support services to students fostering their academic social and emotional growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills a deep understanding of counseling principles and a commitment to promoting a positive school :Leadership and Supervision:Provide visionary leadership to the school counseling department setting strategic goals and priorities aligned with the schools mission and and support a team of school counselors providing guidance mentorship and professional development with school administrators teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student support Development and Implementation:Develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program/curriculum that addresses the academic career and personal/social development of all and oversee initiatives to promote student well-being mental health awareness and crisis intervention the effectiveness of counseling programs and interventions making data-driven decisions to enhance services and all College Board Assessments including managing accommodations for students with appropriate state-mandated SBIRT Support and Advocacy:Provide direct counseling services to students addressing academic career and personal concerns through individual and group counseling a reduced caseload of for students needs and interests collaborating with parents teachers and external agencies to ensure holistic and implement interventions to support students experiencing academic behavioral or emotional and Community Engagement:Foster positive relationships with parents community organizations and mental health professionals to enhance support services for outreach efforts to promote counseling services and resources available to students and in school-wide initiatives committees and professional organizations to stay informed of best practices in school Duties:Manage the counseling department budget allocating resources effectively to meet program goals and accurate records of counseling activities student progress and intervention plans in accordance with professional standards and legal requirements. Specifically supervise and coordinate student 504 reports and presentations for school leadership stakeholders and regulatory agencies as all electronic forms of student records including report cards and transcripts in accordance with all state and federal student records regulations.
