Duties and Responsibilities:
Quality Patient Care
- Answers call lights to determine patient needs. Answers patients questions gives care as needed or alert nurse.
- Performs a.m. and p.m. cares including baths dressing and undressing patients oral care and personal hygiene.
- Prepares patients for meals assists with meals. May pass and collect trays. Feeds patient needing help. Passes nourishments between meals.
- Give bedpans urinals assist patients to commode or bathroom.
- Ambulate patients give back rubs exercise reposition patients and assist patients in and out of chairs and wheelchairs. Transport patients to different areas.
- Take and record temperature pulse respiration rate intake and output and weights as directed.
- Reports all unusual conditions or reactions to nurse in charge.
- Helps keep patient room neat in appearance. Changes linens runs errands and directs visitors.
- Assist in the care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies.
- Actively participate in team oriented decision making process. Is a team player willing to be flexible and open to others ideas.
- Focus a portion of daily work towards high customer satisfaction. The goal of all employees is to meet or exceed our customers expectations 100% of the time.
- Perform other duties as directed by a proper authority as indicated in an approved Hospital policy.
- Assists in completion of hourly rounding and every two hour safety rounds.
- May be required to perform Unit Clerk duties as described in Unit Clerk job description
Key Accountability: Regulatory and Departmental and Hospital Policy/Procedure Compliance
- Responsible for adhering to standard goals and procedures relating to the Compliance Program. Expected to report conduct that is known or suspected to be illegal or in violation of the organizational policy. Reporting may be made in person or in writing to supervisor or manager Compliance Officer or verbally through Compliance Reporting (ext5442).
- Adheres to hospital and department policies procedures objectives safety environmental infection control and quality improvement.
- Maintain all required records reports statistics etc.
- Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings. Attend meetings as required.
- Follow all Hospital safety standards and participate in safety trainings.
Qualifications:
Education: Completion of CNA course with valid certificate
License(s)/Certification(s): Valid CNA certification. Mandatory Reporter for dependent adult and child abuse (Within 6 months of hire). BLS (Within 6 months of hire).
Shifts & Schedule: Night Shift - 3-12s (36 hours per week)
Weekends: Every 3rd
Holidays: Every Other
