Job Description
Mechanical (Pump or Rotating Equipment) Designer
Cascade Pump Company is a custom engineered pump manufacturer located in Santa Fe Springs California (between Los Angeles and Orange County). For over 75 years Cascade Pump has been a leader in custom low lift high-capacity industrial water pump manufacturing. Markets for our equipment include environmental water treatment flood control industrial agricultural and water features in amusement parks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed engineering and manufacturing drawings bills or materials and job order work instructions required to manufacture custom engineered pumps
- Interface with Project Management Purchasing and Manufacturing on requirements
- Communicate engineering and manufacturing issues with Management
- Make vendor ready manufacturing prints and material requirements
- Coatings
- Purchased parts
- Outsource machining and/or other manufacturing process drawings
- 2-year degree in Design and Engineering Drawing Technology
- Competency in Autodesk Inventor 3D and AutoCAD design principles and drafting
- Ability to read blueprints and engineering design drawings
- Ability to create general dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) drawings
- Experience with rotating equipment specifically pumps is desirable
- Experience designing or working in a manufacturing environment including machining fabrication welding and assembly
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Strong communications skills
