Painter

This position prepares and paints rental units buildings and exterior property surfaces such as fences rails etc. as assigned needed or scheduled in a timely manner. May assist with or perform maintenance or groundskeeper duties as assigned or as time allows.

Key Responsibilities

Ensures preparation is completed for all projects

• Prepares assigned surfaces to be painted ensuring cleanliness of area (avoiding paint splatters etc)

Complete apartment turns in a timely manner ensuring customer satisfaction

• Ensures painting of vacant units is of the highest quality workmanship.
• Ensures we are meeting scheduling guidelines provided by manager and supervisor.

Completes projects throughout the year as needed

• Assist with projects when requested by manager/supervisor (exterior paints fences etc)

Ensures proper care of equipment

• Cleans and performs on equipment as necessary.
• Keeps paint shop clean and free of clutter

Assist with maintenance when needed

• When time allows provide assistance to maintenance staff as needed.

Provide excellent customer service to our residents

• Ensure maintenance requests and turns are completed to MAI standards and resident satisfaction

Participate in training opportunities

• Participate in provided maintenance related training
• Participate in safety training
• Complete on-line required training

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior painting experience - residential or commercial
• Prior property management experience a plus

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing and painting.
• Must have adequate balance and ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to distinguish among colors.
• Work indoors and outdoors.
