This is a Stanford Health Care job.A Brief OverviewUnder the direction of the Manager of Spiritual Care Education-CPE Programs/ACPE Certified Educator the CPE Fellow assists with the direct ministry to patients and their families; assists in spiritually supporting patient services staff; pursues an area/s of specialization as agreed upon by the Manager of Spiritual Care Education CPE Programs and the Fellow; participates in the CPE Program activities as deemed relevant to her/his/their area of study and learning goals; cooperates with other departments in ministry and participates in the Spiritual Care departments inter-hospital relationships.

What you will do- Pursues an area/s of specialization clinically and academically.
- Provides professional care to patients of all ages family members and hospital staff.
- Responds to referrals and rounds on assigned patient units.
- Provides rituals and sacramental care as appropriate and in accordance with departmental and denominational policies.
- Shares in planning and leadership of regular services as applicable.
- Participates in special services offered through the Spiritual Care Services department in collaboration with team members and hospital staff.
- Consults with other health care professionals to enhance patient care.
- Charts visits in the medical record and in departmental logs.
- Provides educational in-services seminars and programs for staff as appropriate.
- Works to increase the visibility and quality of the Department of Spiritual Care Services within the hospital community.
- Participates in on-call rotations and is available on short notice for emergencies.
- Functions as a member of the Spiritual Care team by participating in staff activities and maintaining close working relationships with all members of the department.
- Actively contributes to CPE Program activities including seminars verbatim presentations peer group and individual supervision.
- Performs other duties as required assigned or negotiated with the Director of Spiritual Care Services and/or Manager of Spiritual Care Education- CPE Programs.
Education Qualifications- Bachelors Degree
- Four (4) or more CPE units
- Graduate level degree preferably in Theology/ Divinity from an institution accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and/or the Association for Theological Schools; Preferred
- Support for professional spiritual care formation by ones spiritual/religious/ philosophical community; Preferred
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities- PROFESSIONAL:
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Knowledgeable about ministry to the sick and to persons of diverse religious educational racial ethnic cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Ability to work well as a member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to relate theology/dharmalogy/philosophy/spiritual practices behavioral sciences and understanding of persons to help minister to patients and families.
- Good organizational and computer skills.
- Commitment to reflective practice.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $32.50 - $32.50 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity experience education specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
