The Randolph High School Biology teacher will facilitate student success in academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses of study and implement district approved curriculum documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students parents and administration regarding student progress expectations and ideal candidate will:-Collaborate with school personnel parents and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes developing solutions and planning curriculum.-Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.-Promote equity and appreciation of diversity-Maintain classroom management-Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement-Plan and deliver effective instruction using the OpenSciEd Biology curriculum. -Execute the subject matter knowledge requirements specific for Biology Teachers including:Biology of organisms especially that of humans including characteristics and classifications of organismsCells and cell theory Ecology and evolutionary biologyMatter and energy in ecosystems Genetics including chromosome structure and function and inheritance Molecular biology Related aspects of chemistry physics earth science and mathematics such as statistics as deemed appropriate Engineering and technical applications of biology History and philosophy of scienceMethods of research in the sciences including laboratory techniques-Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the Building Principal and/or Department Head
