Job Description

At Amazon Key we are on a mission to empower customers to easily manage access to their homes and businesses. As part of the Amazon Devices and Ring organization we invent new devices software and services to solve critical access problems for our B2C and B2B customers.

As a Software QA Manager III (QAM) within the Amazon Key team you will work closely with the Product Management Software Development Engineering Hardware Engineering User Experience Design and Customer Support groups to understand the product vision requirements and customer usage models and develop appropriate test strategies.

You will be setting the QA teams technical vision and roadmap developing and tracking project schedules. The successful Quality Assurance Manager has strong customer focus insist on highest standard and is obsessed with continuous quality improvement; they are experienced and highly committed to creating world class automation for feature testing and regression; they are able to develop and drive a high-level strategy as well as to take a hands-on approach to implementing that strategy. They are dedicated to building a strong and high performing team.

Key job responsibilities
- Working with product hardware TPM and development teams to understand product vision and requirements
- Understanding how all elements of the software ecosystem work together and developing QA approaches that fit the overall project strategy
- Responsible for development of test strategies and creation of appropriate test harnesses
- Overseeing the development and execution of test plans monitoring and reporting on test execution and quality metrics
- Working with a team of quality engineering professionals to ensure the highest quality product delivery
- The successful candidate is an experienced but hands-on manager who can build an organization and ensure it performs
- Design and develop comprehensive test automation strategies and improve QA efficiency
- Lead the Bug triage Go/No Go meetings
- Define key metrics for measuring and reporting on the quality of software products and test effectiveness.
- Supervise and Coach QA engineers providing guidance technical expertise and ensuring adherence to best practices

A day in the life
Although each day may bring new challenges the majority of your time we will be creating test strategies new automation test tools and infrastructure. We collaborate closely with software development teams to achieve a high quality releases that meet tight timelines without introducing new regressions or lowering product quality.

- 5 years of quality assurance engineering experience
- 3 years of quality assurance teams management experience
- Experience in manual testing
- Experience managing manual testers
- Experience in automation testing
- Experience managing automation testers
- Experience testing web technologies and back-end services
- Experience identifying and reviewing test plans test cases and testing results with a strong QA background

- Experience preparing quality metrics and effectively engaging with stakeholders to set and drive quality goals
- Experience transforming QA programs from manual to automation
