General Summary: The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting central pharmacists and technicians in the delivery of medications and pharmaceutical products under direct supervision of a Pharmacist. Documents and updates documentation on various pharmaceutical products that are loaded in the automated dispensing machines. Communicates with pharmacy staff and nurses about medication when necessary and appropriate.
Minimum Education:
High school diploma or GED is required.
Required Licensure Certification On-going Training:
Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy for Maryland as a Pharmacy Technician. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certified required or obtain PTCB certification within 1 year of hire. Licensure required.PTCB for pharmacy students can be waived for those who have an active Pharmacist Intern License.
6 months of previous hospital experience is preferred.
Shift:PRN/On-Call:
- Rotating shifts as needed
- Required to work weekends Holiday and over nightshift (as needed)
- Must be available for training
Salary Range: Minimum 29.00/hour - Maximum 29.00/ will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
