Qualifications:
- High School Diploma with additional college level work in business courses preferred.
- School experience preferred
- Proficient in the use of microcomputers to include spreadsheet database and word processing applications
- Knowledge of basic office procedures and equipment
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Reports to:RISE Academy Administrator
Background Check Required: (Ala. Code 16-22A-5) upon offer of employment employees will be required to submit legible fingerprints for a background review by the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Background checks must not be more than 10 years old.

- Proficiency in technology programs such as Google and Microsoft Office Suite etc.
- Ability to perform the clerical duties required at the school

- Ability to maintain confidentiality of privileged information obtained in the course of work
- Desire and ability to engage in continuing education and skills upgrading
- Knowledge and understanding of the school system rules administrative procedures local board policy and state and federal rules and regulations
- Possesses the physical and emotional stability to fulfill the contract period
Essential Functions:
- Greets visitors in a courteous and professional manner; provides information and handles routine business associated with a busy productive and smoothly run office
- Directs callers and visitors to the appropriate personnel and provides general information when requested
- Provides assistance to school administration teachers parents and students in order to assure the students success in the schools program
- Prepares correspondence letters memoranda reports statements and other necessary material from data copies or rough drafts.
- Prepares material for beginning and ending of school year
- Maintains office supplies and materials
- Receives examines and routes incoming mail and correspondence
- Maintains files and other material to facilitate prompt access and replies
- Responsible for maintaining student attendance records
- Prepares and maintain payroll records
- Responsible for requesting purchase orders and maintaining teacher accounts
- Processing required documentation for field trips professional leave contracts and travel
- Maintains a professional appearance as appropriate for job responsibilities
- Maintains and improves knowledge and skills to promote proficiency in the operation of an organized modern updated and efficient office
- Participates in workshops and professional development activities and applies what is learned to the job; accepts new challenges in a professional manner
- Performs other duties within the scope of his/ her employment as may be assigned
- Organizes office volunteers as directed by the supervisor
- This position will be subject to the Students First Act of 2011. Madison City Schools reserves the right to fill this position by transfer of a qualified applicant who is already employed by Madison City Schools.
- Under the Students First Act of 2011 no credit toward tenure or non-probationary status is earned in the initial school year of employment if the date of hire occurs after September 30.
Expected Employment:187days/8hrs (full year)
Evaluation:According to established Board policies and administrative procedures and guidelines.
SalaryRange: According to Madison City Schools Salary Schedule (Salary based on employment for complete year). Up to 10 years experience will be counted for new employees who provide documentation of full-time experience in the area of concentration.
