The Residence is a premier and highly specialized facility focused on delivering evidence-based treatment for mental health addiction and concurrent conditions in a private highly personalized and luxurious residential setting.
We are seeking an individual for the Executive Chef position who will lead promote and foster a highly professional discreet and respectful environment focused on serving fresh healthy meals and ensuring client dietary needs are carefully considered. The Executive Chef will report to the Senior Manager of The Residence and will provide direct leadership to the culinary team.
Hours of Work: Permanent Full-time 37.5 hours per week
What youll be doing:
- Lead and manage all kitchen and dining operations ensuring exceptional food quality and service
- Plan and execute seasonal menus using fresh natural and locally-sourced ingredients incorporating a variety of international dishes to create a rich and diverse dining experience
- Create customized meals that incorporate and accommodate client dietary requirements collaborating with Homewood Dieticians to support clients integrated health and wellness goals
- Order receive and manage food inventory to maintain proper stock levels while minimizing waste
- Train supervise and mentor culinary staff fostering a positive and respectful team culture
- Ensure kitchen and dining areas are clean organized and compliant with all food safety and health regulations
- Ensure compliance with Infection Prevention & Control Occupational Health & Safety and organizational policies
- Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest levels of culinary standards and client satisfaction
- Ensure the proper functioning of all kitchen equipment ensure staff are aware trained and adhere to the safe operation and maintenance of all kitchen equipment
- Attend departmental Health Centre and Residence meetings as required and maintain notes minutes and records as required
- Source and develop partnerships with local suppliers; negotiate contracts and costs as needed and support with culinary budget planning
What were looking for:
- Bachelors Degree in Culinary Arts or Associates Degree in Culinary Arts from a recognized Culinary school is preferred
- Red Seal certification is mandatory
- 3-5 years experience working as a Chef in fine-dining restaurants hotels or experience working as a private chef preferred
- Nutrition and Dietetics background or certifications would be an asset
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate and interact with diverse individuals build trust and develop rapport
- Engaging collaborative and creative astute to clients needs with the ability to adapt and be flexible
- Demonstrated ability to be professional discreet and sensitive with strong professional and personal boundaries
- Demonstrate commitment to Homewoods Core Competencies (Service Excellence Innovation Collaboration Integrity)
- Experience in a specialized setting with knowledge of addictions or mental health would be an asset
- Cultural Culinary knowledge would be an asset
