- Design develop evaluate or improve assembly systems and processes.
- Focus on areas such as human work factors quality control inventory control material flow cost analysis and production coordination.
- Collaborate with commercial or industrial designers to refine process designs for increased productivity and reduced costs.
- Create and update documentation for PFMEA job instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Read and interpret blueprints technical drawings schematics and computer-generated reports.
- Identify and implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using expertise in assembly processes tooling equipment methods quality standards and product design.
- Troubleshoot new or existing product issues related to design materials or processes.
- Provide technical expertise and support in manufacturing.
- Work with engineers and other personnel to implement procedures resolve system issues and provide technical information.
- Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend design or process changes.
- Perform nonconforming material analysis and collaborate with Quality Control to reduce NCMRs (Nonconforming Material Reports).
- Plan and establish sequences of operations for assembly to promote efficiency.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed and work areas are maintained meeting regulatory compliance.
- Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance quality reliability and cost-effectiveness.
- Supervise technicians and other associates as needed.
