We have professional project management and logistics staff as well as highly skilled field personnel capable of performing all aspects of our projects. Our team plans conducts all logistics executes and manages heavy industry construction projects across the state supporting development in some of the most environmentally and logistically complex locations in the world. Some of our notable work including wind energy installation communication tower installation diesel generation upgrades and community bulk fuel system upgrades have provided even the most remote communities with essential services.
What can you expect
As the Expediting Driver you will work onsite in Anchorage AK and will be responsible for operating Company vehicles to support project and general business operations. Your primary duties include the timely pickup and delivery of materials tools and supply orders from a variety of locations including vendors job sites and freight carriers throughout the area. While the role is primarily focused on driving it also involves manual labor tasks and outdoor work as needed. You will also provide general support to the Procurement and Logistics team
How will you do it
- Drive Company vehicles (standard pickups vans or flatbed trucks up to 1.5 tons) with large loads daily.
- Drive a planned route specific to the days orders flight schedules and project requirements.
- Pick up and deliver orders and materials from vendors freight companies etc.
- Make supply and grocery order runs including shopping loading and packing for shipment.
- Act as Company courier to deliver and pick up office communications and documents.
- Plan and map out pickups and deliveries in the most efficient manner possible.
- Establish and maintain positive and professional long-term relationships with vendors.
- Submit expense reports weekly with purchases made from company credit card.
- Reconcile picked up and received order items against the vendors pick ticket to ensure accuracy of filled items. Cross reference orders with Company purchase orders to help ensure accuracy.
- Organize goods received by projects to consolidate delivery and shipments to field projects.
- Package label and load goods for shipment.
- Ability to photo document all freight leaving Anchorage.
- Operate loader to load and offload trucks and trailers and move material.
- Assist in loading containers and flats with materials tools equipment and supplies outdoors.
- Assist with inventory organization and storage in the Company yards.
- Use the internet and other available resources to research vendor locations for route planning and to research parts materials and supplies as needed.
- Ensure receipts pick tickets and air bills are processed daily with accurate notes regarding requisition number and placement in the yard.
- Attend and actively participate in meetings.
- Perform manual labor duties such as:
- Snow shoveling
- Yard maintenance
- Connex/tents clean-up and inventory
- Provide administrative support to the Procurement & Logistics Department including:
- Operate office equipment such as a computer copier and scanner.
- Assist with procurement when needed following processes for completing requisitions and purchase orders
- Maintain paper and electronic files.
- Send out emails daily regarding air freight that has been tendered to airlines. Emails must be sent to the foreman project manager project support staff and the P&L department.
- Work as a team-player co-workers and business associates in a respectful and supportive manner.
- Responsibility to report any incident situation or activity that may affect the companys ability to operate safely ethically and profitably to company management or designated safety personnel.
- Seek and participate in development and training opportunities.
- Follow traffic laws.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Anchorage area with ability to safely navigate the road system.
- Knowledge and ability to follow all state and local driving laws.
- Basic knowledge of major construction vendors relevant to Alaska.
- Basic knowledge of construction materials equipment and terminology.
- Basic knowledge of remote Alaska logistics and associated freight companies.
- Knowledge of standard hazardous material handling and transportation protocols.
- Strong customer service skills.

- Strong organization skills; able to multi-task organize resources establish priorities and meet deadlines.
- Basic computer skills with working knowledge of the internet and Microsoft Outlook Excel and Word.

Who is STG Inc. looking for
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- One-year prior experience working with local construction or freight vendors.
- One year experience driving in Anchorage preferably in a professional setting.
- Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card required.
- Work related experience using a computer internet and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook).
- Valid Alaska drivers license and must be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of STGs Driving Policy.
- Ability to pass a drug driving record and background screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hazmat Transportation certification preferred.
