Job Description

The Electronic Health Record Systems Analyst II:

  • Provides subject matter expertise for the EHR in a customer focused mission driven manner.
  • Conducts ongoing assessments of business process and structure to understand agency workflows expectations and needs to support effective and efficient use of EHR
  • Develops plans resulting in process and data flow charts and diagrams to support information system utilization and implementation.
  • Identifies defines and documents new functional requirements for clinical applications based on input from the field end users.
  • Translate client requirements into highly specified documentation.
  • Liaisons with various departments to share best practice ongoing requirements and specific needs of the application to support the delivery of patient care.
  • Performs project management and implementation functions to support delivery of new technology and functionality to end users groups.
  • Coordinates the development of test scripts and scenarios and participate in testing of new versions and upgrades.
  • Support the maintenance of the security components of the core clinical system for the purpose of ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Performs testing and quality assurance review of EHR software to ensure that functionality supports the business processes and regulations for Empath Health.
  • Act as as a technical liaison with identified clinical application staff related to the implementation of new features and functionaltiy related to customer requirements within Empath Health
  • Supports the on-site Pharmacies by troubleshooting common errors and applying software patches to their various systems.
  • Acts as a back-up to the Electronic Health Record Systems Analyst I role.

Qualification and Requirements:

  • Education and/or Experience: Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clinical and information technology personnel verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated customer orientation
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite
  • Working knowledge of health care work flows and patient care
  • Ability to work to deadlines and milestones with efficiency and flexibility

Preferred:

  • Five years or more of experience in health care information systems analysis utilization and implementation
  • Broad based understanding of clinical operations and processes
  • Understanding of HIPAA policies and directives
  • Proficiency in clinical application documentation and reporting tools
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid policies and directives
