Maintenance and Property Team Leader
Ashfield Baptist Homes is a 136 bed not-for-profit residential aged care home in Ashfield Sydney. We welcome residents and staff from all faiths and cultures. About the role:
As the Maintenance and Property Team Leader you will provide quality support and maintenance services to all residents and the site as a whole. You will be responsible for the provision of quality support and maintenance of the grounds and gardens to ensure the facility is safe well maintained and attractive for residents families visitors and staff. This includes assisting with general building upkeep as well as assisting with our residents repair requests for their individual rooms.
This is a full-time position across 5 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and perform maintenance tasks for both reactive and preventative maintenance to ensure high standards and compliance with legislated requirements and the Aged Care Quality Standards
- Manage contractors and service provision of external stakeholders
- Oversee asset management including acquisition disposal and maintenance of site vehicles and equipment
- Hands on support and management of the maintenance of the buildings and property associated with the facility
- Management of records and reports including budget management
- Provide leadership and supervision of the maintenance team
- Prioritise and manage a variety of completing projects/tasks
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience in maintenance and building works in an aged care setting
- Trade certificate in a relevant field
- A sound understanding of WH&S and ability to always maintain a safe working environment
- Hold a current Australian Drivers Licence
- Valid working rights
- Intermediate computer skills in MS Office and databases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both within a team and autonomously
- Willingness to undertake Fire Safety Officer training
- Willing to be On Call for after-hours emergencies
Desirable
- Trade background and several years industry experience will be highly regarded
- Understanding of Asset Management software programs
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
