Responsibilities
Patient Transporter - Make a Difference in Patient Care!We are looking for a reliable and caring Patient Transporter to join our team. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of patients and materials throughout the hospital contributing to a positive patient experience.
- Transport patients safely and comfortably via wheelchair or gurney.
- Assist with patient lifting and movement.
- Dispatch and coordinate other transporters as needed.
- Maintain patient safety and follow infection control protocols.
- Keep accurate records and maintain equipment cleanliness.
- Participate in training and use proper body mechanics.
- Transport equipment and supplies.
- Report equipment issues and safety concerns.
- Answer phones and pages courteously.
- Perform other related duties.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalency required.
- Minimum six months recent work experience in a medical office hospital/ acute care environment required.
- AHA BLS certification required.
- Fire Safety Card within 90 days of hire.
This position is represented by SEIU UHW and covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
