Position Overview:

Are you a smart motivated and intellectually driven with a passion for affordable housing finance Do you have experience underwriting Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTCs) equity transactions If so Freddie Macs LIHTC Equity Investment team may be what you are looking for to provide you an opportunity to expand your affordable housing experience. This position is based in McLean VA.

Our Impact:

  • The LIHTC Equity Investment team is responsible for underwriting transactions originated coast to coast by our network of LIHTC Syndicators.
  • We are innovators in the LIHTC industry by seeking creative ways to mitigate credit risk; investing in various geographies transaction sizes and resident populations; along with pairing Freddie Macs equity with debt products to finance single transactions.

Your Impact:

  • Obtain and review required documentation that will be used to evaluate the credit quality of proposed LIHTC equity investments.
  • Analyze property proformas guarantor financial data the suitability of transaction stakeholders third-party reports deal structure/terms and more.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving transactional issues across various investment types and circumstances.
  • Expand your network and communication skills through regular correspondence with internal and external business partners.
  • Contribute to the preparation of complete and accurate investment briefs that are leveraged by senior management to make credit decisions.

Qualifications:

  • 2 to 4 years of commercial real estate finance experience preferably in multifamily affordable and LIHTC Equity
  • Bachelors Degree in Real Estate Finance Economics Business Administration related discipline or comparable amount of directly relevant professional experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $108000 - $160000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position experience skill set internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
