Job Title: Food Safety Quality Assurance Supervisor
Pay: $40-$45/hr DOE
Location: Henderson NV
Reports To: Quality Manager
Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance/ Food Safety Supervisor is responsible for leading the implementation and oversight of food safety quality control and sanitation programs to ensure all products meet established standards. This role ensures a safe food-compliant environment through hands-on supervision cross-departmental collaboration continuous improvement and regulatory compliance. Additional responsibilities include staff supervision scheduling documentation changeovers and serving as backup to the Quality Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enforce and promote personnel safety protocols across all levels.
- Ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards by employees and departments.
- Report and resolve food safety quality or personnel safety issues promptly.
- Collaborate with Production Quality Sanitation Warehouse and Maintenance teams.
- Supervise and develop QA and Sanitation personnel including performance management training and scheduling.
- Maintain all quality control and sanitation equipment and supplies.
- Perform inspections issue Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and collect product samples.
- Participate in and support internal and external audits and inspections.
- Manage documentation and compliance with programs including Hold & Release HACCP Master Sanitation Schedules SSOPs SDSs and environmental testing.
- Identify and address pest control concerns sanitation issues and facility compliance.
- Liaise with vendors for sanitation equipment and material procurement.
- Ensure compliance with GMP HACCP SQF OSHA FDA and other regulatory standards.
- Communicate quality and sanitation concerns to leadership and support effective resolution.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role supervises Quality Assurance Technicians and Sanitation Technicians including oversight of daily tasks training performance evaluations and discipline where necessary.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Associates Degree required; Bachelors Degree in a Science-related field preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in a food manufacturing or quality assurance environment.
- Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Knowledge of food safety and quality systems such as GMP HACCP FDA SQF SOPs and Codex standards.
- Familiarity with pest control allergen management and sanitation best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook PowerPoint).
- Strong leadership analytical problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and effective written and verbal communication skills.
