JOB TITLE: Building Library Media Coordinator
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Building Principal
FTE: 0.4375 (3.5 hours per day)
POSTION START DATE:August 18 2025
GENERAL DUTIES SUMMARY:
Oversees the primary functions of media centers including circulation organization maintenance and fee collection of online and print resources.

- Maintain inventory control and shelf integrity of library resources included but not limited to: books video collection ebooks and other school equipment
- Guide students & staff on how to identify and access appropriate library resources
- Demonstrate use operation maintenance and repairs of various library & technology resources
- Order receive process distribute and track all media supplies for school as directed
- Schedule track and set-up for media/digital equipment usage for staff students special events and outside groups
- Track and compile statistics on supply resource & equipment usage
- Support and direct volunteers working in the library
- Coordinate and procure library resources to support classroom instruction as directed
- Provide digital curriculum support to staff
- Maintain a confidentiality concerning student and staff information
- Develop and maintain effective and respectful working relationships with supervisor staff volunteers and general public
- Other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES
- High school diploma or GED equivalent-Two years experience in a library setting with experience in audio visual and educational digital resources
- Work independently and efficiently
- Manage time and workload to ensure efficient use of time and resources
- Make some independent judgments within prescribed policies and procedures
- Employ good judgment in a variety of situations including emergencies
- Demonstrate a personal growth mindset and seek out professional development to keep the library program current and relevant
- Possess the characteristics and understanding to be an effective member of an educational support team
- Comprehend and follow oral and written instructions and complete work within established timelines
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Demonstrate and communicate use of library resources in a clear and concise manner
- Oregon Drivers License or ability to get to and from work in a timely manner and perform the essential functions of the position

- Near/Far Vision color discrimination and hearing are all used constantly throughout the day in the day-to-day responsibilities
- Medium lifting of equipment is frequent throughout the day
- Light lifting of books from book drop and shelving
- Medium carrying of overheads screen projectors and books is occasional
- Frequent light carrying and pulling/pushing of equipment
- Crawling occasionally under desks or tables to check network problems
- Kneeling if frequent shelving books shelf reading
- Constantly repeated bending shelving books emptying book drop
- The position requires standing walking and repetitive motion (shelving books and using computers)
- Occasional exposure to cleaners when dusting shelves and cleaning equipment
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to interruptions and interaction with students and staff
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Tigard-Tualatin School District 23J and Oregon School Employees Association Chapter 51.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a ten month assignment on the I range of the Classified Job Schedule. The assignment of the step will be in compliance with the current Collective Bargaining Agreement and range of pay is located in the current Classified Salary Schedule.
