Multiple-Choice Tested Titles with Keyboarding Assessment:

Walk-in candidates may be accepted at the discretion of the testing center if space is available; scheduled applicants will receive priority when testing. Unscheduled applicants (walk-ins) must have completed an online application prior to arrival or may complete an online application in a Department of Personnel office prior to the beginning of the testing session; allow at least 20 minutes.

Receives supervisions conviction dispositions and Failure to Appear Notices which have been batched and coded by appropriate personnel and enters appropriate information on to driving records via personal computer utilizing multiple screens; uses database and soundex functions to review and research dispositions for possible correction of information such as drivers license number name address etc.; returns dispositions to court when system prevents entry and problem cannot be found and/or correction cannot be made by operator and/or coder.
Enters address change requests from the public Internet and other areas to update drivers license (DL) and identification card (ID) files; update DL and ID files from applicants and authorizations from other areas; load error corrections and other license and ID file updates received from the Facility Assistance Hotline; update files dealing with notification of deceased from various sources including Department of Public Health coroners etc.
Enters Safe Driver Renewal applications via personal computer in multiple formats to update record to issue renewal sticker; loads organ donor and motor voter information based on information received on application; completes form indicating status of ineligible applicants and forwards to problem resolution desk when entry to system is not permissible; maintains log of all applications processed and/or returned; batches applications based on fee amounts and forwards to appropriate staff for validation.
Receives electronic accident reports from Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) reviews information on report to select proper type entry based on defined guidelines and Department procedures; enters accident on driving record utilizing multiple screens; sends information to appropriate personnel for further action based on issuance of tickets alcohol involvement etc.; returns report electronically to IDOT upon completion.
Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Education and Experience:
Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school preferably including courses in the care and operation of a typewriter or data entry equipment.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Requires ability to operate a keyboard-controlled data entry device rapidly and accurately at a working rate of speed.
Requires ability to follow oral and/or written instructions.
Requires elementary knowledge of office practices procedures and programs.
Requires elementary knowledge of how to compile information and prepare logs and
reports.
Requires working knowledge of basic mathematics.
Requires ability to operate commonly used office equipment and perform routine
Preference will be given to Illinois residents in the hiring and selection process in accordance with the Illinois Secretary of State Merit Employment Code.
