Job Summary
Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.
The Office of the Clerk is seeking a strategic organized and professional individual for the regular full-time position of Communications Officer.
Reporting to the Communications Manager (Manager) the Communications Officer (Officer) is a member of the Governance and Corporate Support Team within the Office of the Clerk. As a generalist the Officer supports the effective delivery of internal and external communications by contributing to strategy development coordinating content across platforms and providing expert guidance to leadership and departments. The Officer provides a range of services and advice including the development and implementation of communication plans preparation of written materials and visual content and monitoring of media to identify emerging issues. The role also supports crisis communications and leads internal communications initiatives aligned with corporate strategy.
